A feeding tube is a means by which you are able to receive nutritional support (food/liquid) into the stomach or intestinal tract while bypassing the mouth and throat. In this practice, feeding tubes are commonly used for a variety of reasons. Some of these are detailed below, although if you have questions or concerns regarding the use of a feeding tube, the SLP staff should be able to answer your specific questions.
